Nutritional guidance to improve and maintain your pet's general health and well-being.
Giving your cherished pet the best care means that you are catering to all of their dietary needs. Feeding your pet is much more than just choosing age-appropriate packaged foods for them. You want to make sure their foods are balanced and give them sustenance. The dietary needs of your pet may differ because of their breed, health condition or their age. To help pet parents make the best choice for their pets we offer nutritional counselling. Our veterinarians have years of providing expert advice to give your pet a long and healthy life.
During counselling, our veterinarians examine your pet’s diet and eating schedule. They may ask questions like how often your pet eats, what type of food they are eating, if there have been any changes in their eating habits, etc. We also check to see if your pet has any specific allergies and create a unique diet for them. The customized diet will be based on their age, weight, breed and lifestyle. Some common recommendations are based on portion size, feeding schedules and supplements.
Nutrition counselling is beneficial for all pets at every stage of their life. It gives pet parents the opportunity to work one-on-one with a veterinarian to create a special diet or eating routine for their pet. Some benefits from nutritional counselling include healthier skin, more energy, less allergic reactions, reduced obesity and a longer lifespan overall.
It is recommended that you discuss any new foods you want to introduce to your pet’s diet during nutrition counselling. Some of the foods we eat aren’t safe for your furry friends and can trigger reactions that can be potentially lethal. Generally, you should avoid feeding your pet:
