X-ray

A safe diagnostic tool for detecting anomalies in your pet's internal organs.

Our team performs diagnostic testing when your pet is showing symptoms of illness. One important tool we may use is X-rays (radiographs). X-rays allow our veterinary team to see the dense structures in your pet’s body, like their bones and lungs. X-rays use a safe amount of radiation light that is absorbed when it passes through your pet. When the light is absorbed a snapshot is taken in black and white.

Will my pet feel pain during an X-ray?

No. X-rays are painless procedures. With radiographs, your pet needs to remain still to get concise pictures so we may sedate them.

Why would my pet need an X-ray?

X-rays are used to diagnose health conditions your pet may have. Radiographs can detect gallstones, arthritis, broken bones and fractures.
